- Group Description: Power Sonic’s PSL-FP series features prismatic and cylindrical formats in both energy and power cells. Featuring proven and safe lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) chemistry, the PSL-FP series delivers many options for different battery configurations and application-specific needs. With high efficiency, and ultra-fast charging and discharging the PSL-FP series is ideal for industrial applications where a long-life span and quick charging capabilities are needed. The PSL-FP consists of energy and power cells. Power cells are designed to deliver high current loads over a short period of time, making them ideal for use in high rate and starter applications and energy cells are designed to deliver sustained current over a long period of time, making them ideal for use in cyclic applications. LiFePO4 batteries are much safer than other lithium battery technologies. Using them reduces the risk of explosion or combustion due to high impact, over-charging or short circuit situations. Not only are they safer but they can be mounted in any direction and will never leak. Laser weld plate terminals or M6 screw bolt terminals provide different options for assembly and configuration. Delivering 2000 cycles at 100% depth of discharge (DoD), the [[ps_product_groups.field_values.10]] are designed to deliver sustained current over a long period of time, making them ideal for use in cyclic applications.
- Charging Description: Cycle Applications: Apply constant voltage charge at 3.60VPC – 3.65VPC (14.4 to 14.6 volts for 12V Monobloc) at 20°C. The initial charging current should be set at less than C/4 Amps. Terminate the charge when the current falls to a 3% capacity rate to avoid overcharging. Stand-By or "Float" Service: Apply constant voltage charge of 3.35VPC – 3.45VPC (13.4 to 13.8 volts for 12V Monobloc) at 20°C. When held at this voltage, the battery will seek its own current level and maintain itself in a fully charged condition.
