- Group Description: The HV series comes with a Battery Management System (BMS) that monitors current, voltage, and temperature during charge and discharge. This protects the battery from over-charge, over-discharge, and dangerous temperatures. The BMS includes a balancing circuit that controls all cell voltages in the battery, ensuring they are constantly at the same voltage level, optimizing battery capacity.
With its advanced BMS design, the PSL-HV range can be configured with unlimited parallel connections providing a solution for very high-capacity applications. High voltage batteries allow one battery to take the place of two or more 12V batteries in series - this means no series connections creating cleaner and safer installs. Lithium offers several performance benefits versus it's sealed lead acid (SLA) equivalent. A lithium battery's capacity is independent from the discharge rate and provides constant power throughout its discharge. The degradation of a lithium battery at a high temperature is significantly reduced in comparison to SLA. Lithium has ten times the cycle life as SLA at room temperature. Even at an elevated temperature, lithium still has an increased cycle life over SLA at room temperature. Lastly, Lithium charging follows a similar charging profile as SLA, Constant Current Constant Voltage (CC/CV). However, lithium can be charged faster, without the need for a maintenance float charge.LiFePO4 batteries are much safer than other lithium battery technologies. Using them reduces the risk of explosion or combustion due to high impact, over-charging, or short circuit situations. Not only are they safer but they can be mounted in any direction and will never leak. - Product Description: The PSL-HV-48300-GC2 is part of our Rechargeable Lithium Battery range of Lithium Iron Phosphate (LiFePO4) batteries which have been engineered to offer a lighter and longer life with higher power solutions when compared to standard lead acid batteries. The 51.2V 30.0A LiFePO4 battery offers superior performance in a wide range of applications including Data Center, Energy Storage, Golf Carts, Medical, Mobility, Solar, Transport, Utility, and Wind. The PSL-HV-48300-GC2 offers up to 10 times more cycles at 40% of the weight of the equivalent lead acid battery. Our Rechargeable Lithium Battery has an integrated battery management system (BMS) that controls the parameters of the battery to provide optimum safety and performance. Our enhanced design balances the battery cells and protects against overcharging or over discharging. All Power-Sonic batteries are subject to stringent quality controls through each step of the manufacturing process to ensure consistency and reliability.
- Charging Description: Cycle Applications: Apply constant voltage charge at 3.60VPC – 3.65VPC (14.4 to 14.6 volts for 12V Monobloc) at 20°C. The initial charging current should be set at less than C/4 Amps. Terminate the charge when the current falls to a 3% capacity rate to avoid overcharging.
Stand-By or "Float" Service: Apply constant voltage charge of 3.35VPC – 3.45VPC (13.4 to 13.8 volts for 12V Monobloc) at 20°C. When held at this voltage, the battery will seek its own current level and maintain itself in a fully charged condition.
